Ske:g Tas! I want to thank you for your continual support throughout the school year, especially for attending Parent/Teacher conferences, the Parent/Teacher Advisory Council, and Site Council meetings. We are blessed to work with your students and appreciate all their efforts to achieve academic success.

We are constantly working on school improvement, and we need your help to continue growing in a positive direction. To that end, several important changes are coming to SRHS in the near future:

  • Final exams are this week! Students will take final exams on Wednesday, Dec. 18, and Thursday, Dec. 19. These exams are worth 10 percent of a student’s semester grades. Click here to view the exam schedule. Please ensure your student attends school on these days, as a missed an exam will receive a score of zero (please make arrangements with me immediately if you know your student is going to miss school).
  • Beginning in January, SRHS will have a new schedule that includes seven class periods. School will start and end at the same time (9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.). Adding another period to the school day will allow for more intervention time. For instance, students who struggle with specific concepts in reading will be assigned to ‘Skillbuilder’ classes, which will help improve their targeted needs. Click here to view the new bell schedule (effective January 7, 2020).
  • Breakfast will be served in the cafeteria. Beginning in January, breakfast will no longer be served in the classroom; instead, students can go to the cafeteria from 8:45-9 a.m. to get their own breakfast before school starts. Students will also meet their teachers in the cafeteria during this time. At 9 a.m., teachers and students will transition to their classrooms for instruction. We encourage all students to eat breakfast for the energy they need to make it through a full day of learning, and we need your help to get students to school on time.

The latest issue of the school newsletter will be out soon – stay tuned for more exciting news and updates! We appreciate your continued assistance and support. You make us better, and we are proud to be the SRHS Eagles!
