Dear Salt River High School Seniors & Families,

It was announced Monday, March 30, that all Arizona schools, including Salt River Schools, will be closed through the remainder of the school year due to growing concerns regarding COVID-19 (coronavirus). Click here to find out how SRHS teachers and staff are committed to providing educational opportunities for our students learning at home.

The closure means that certain events—such as prom, the senior class trip, and the senior dinner event—must be cancelled in order to align with SRPMIC, state, and national efforts to protect families and the Community against the spread of COVID-19. We know seniors worked hard to make these events happen. We’ll have to wait to see how this situation unfolds before we can determine our next steps and answer the questions we know you have, such as what will happen to the money seniors raised to plan these events. We have the same questions you do and will inform you as soon as we have any answers.

With regards to transcripts and diplomas, we are working to ensure those of you who were on track to receive your high school diploma will do so on time and without hassle; if you are unsure about your ability to graduate, please call or email me at the contacts listed below. We are still waiting to determine if we can host a graduation ceremony and will inform you when we know more.

Please note that we still plan to publish the high school yearbook and we’d like to make the senior section shine as brightly as possible. Deb Mills has been trying to reach out to seniors about getting baby photos, senior quotes, and other information for the yearbook. We would hate for any senior to be left out; please reach out to Ms. Mills to participate in this special rite of passage.

We understand this is a difficult time for everyone. Our hearts go out to all impacted families, as we know many seniors were looking forward to these special events. We appreciate your patience and support as we move through these times of uncertainty together. Please reach out to me with any questions.
