Our schools may be closed because of COVID-19, but that doesn’t mean learning has stopped! In order to provide our students with quality at-home education opportunities, SRHS will launch a new distance learning experience beginning April 13. It is important students participate as much as possible to ensure academic growth and to achieve learning goals.

SRHS staff have reached out to provide school-issued laptops to as many of our students as possible (who do not already have a desktop, laptop, or tablet to use at home); if you have some kind of internet access at home and still need a laptop, please call SRHS at 480-362-2055. If you do not have internet access, our teachers have created new homework packets that can be mailed to your home—please call 480-362-2055 to make arrangements.

For the remainder of the school year, those students with internet access will complete their grade-level requirements for ELA, math, science, social studies, and Spanish using online software called Edgenuity. Students with elective coursework to finish will be contacted by their teachers to discuss moving forward through the end of the year.

To access Edgenuity, please follow the directions below.

  1. Use Google Chrome (do not use Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge) to access this link: https://auth.edgenuity.com/login/saml/student/saltriver
  2. Students will log in the same as they would on a computer at school, except “Eddept\” will be added before their user name (note the forward slash, which can found above “enter” on the keyboard). Example:

    Username: Eddept\student user name

Password: same password as school login

  3. Do not bookmark the site. Doing so disables the link.
  4. Classes begin Monday, April 13. When they log in on this day, students will see the coursework they’re supposed to complete.

We are excited to make the transition to distance learning for our students. If you have any questions about student work through the end of the year, call or email me directly. If you have any questions regarding your laptop, you can call our technology helpdesk at 480-362-2088.

Sincerely,

Emily Niu
