SRHS students heard inspiring messages of strength and perseverance from inspiring Indigenous athletes participating in this year'sIRONMAN Arizona triathlon.

As part of IRONMAN Arizona race week, the IRONMAN Foundation ambassadors took part in a special assembly with local racers at SRHS about making healthy choices, then worked with student and race volunteers on a service project building speed bikes for students at Salt River Elementary School. Students were also able to eat a yummy "athlete food" lunch.

The IRONMAN Foundation is dedicated to creating tangible impact in IRONMAN race communities through grant funding and volunteerism.

SRHS students and staff would like to thank the IRONMAN Foundation and IRONMAN Arizona racers--including Community member Kiana Reina, who is also the first attendant for Miss Indian Arizona--for sharing their experiences!

Be sure to cheer for all race participants this weekend! And remember: #BeBoldBeBraveBeBaag

Check out some of the great photos shared with us from the IRONMAN Foundation:
